# Main Navigation

The **Main Navigation** provides access to the principal sections of the DC Works Designer. It remains available throughout the Designer, allowing you to move between Applets, data, Suites, files, account settings, and other areas.

The options available may vary depending on your account and user permissions.

From this section, you can:

* Create an Applet.
* Open an Applet in the Applet Editor.

Detailed Applet-building instructions are provided in the **Applets** chapter.

Detailed instructions are provided in the **Suites** chapter.

### API Connector

Select **API Connector** to configure connections between DC Works and supported external systems.

API connections allow Applets and workflows to exchange information with services outside DC Works. Configuration requirements depend on the system and API being used.

Detailed instructions are provided in the **API Connector** chapter.

Files stored here may be available for use within Applets or other DC Works components, depending on the file type and configuration.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.amltd.com/dc-works/dc-works-designer/main-navigation.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
